Rede Flor do Mar: The ghost net weaver of Cabo Frio

When Bruna Lopes, a native fisherwoman from Praia do Peró (Cabo Frio, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), saw ghost nets silently killing marine life and threatening the future of her community, she decided to take action. With Rede Flor do Mar, she and her team remove abandoned nets from the sea, lagoons, and mangroves, transforming them into handicrafts. In this way, they perpetuate traditional knowledge while converting pollution into income for the community. This documentary shows how caring for the ocean, ancestral knowledge, and community strength can generate real solutions where support often fails.
